To take the analogy further…
I’ve been saying for a while now that we should normalize wearing masks during flu season. At the very least, you should wear a mask if you have any symptoms that might be cold or flu, in order to protect other people. If this pandemic ever ends, I intend to wear a mask whenever I go in public and have even just what might be hay fever symptoms. And if people ask I’ll say, “Because I have a cold and I don’t want to get YOU sick.”
